# Dig Deeper

Some bugs are nasty. They disappear during inspection, cross several systems or keep returning after an apparently sensible fix.

Dig Deeper is built for that kind of diagnosis. It uses logs, system state, documentation, code and other read-only evidence to build competing explanations and break the weak ones. The gentle wrapper can use tools as long as it does not change the target.

## Use it when

- A bug is intermittent or expensive to reproduce.
- Several causes fit the first observation.
- Earlier attempts fixed symptoms but not the problem.
- A confident diagnosis does not yet have enough evidence.

## Two operating boundaries

The gentle `dig-deeper` wrapper is for non-mutating investigation. `dig-deeper-probe` permits active evidence collection with tools and controlled experiments, while avoiding damage. Probe mode diagnoses; it does not silently turn diagnosis into remediation.

## What to expect

The result distinguishes observations, hypotheses and conclusions. Weak explanations remain open. A fix is recommended only when the evidence supports it.
